Excellent advice. Long before I started reading posts like this penned by more experienced marketers and before I had a clue about niche research, keyword tools, etc I somehow chose the health, dating/relationships and golf niches. Even bought domains for them without knowing what experts teach about how to choose domains. Seems my instincts put me on the right path. All I looked for in a domain name were words that (a) I thought people might search for; and (b) that easily fit into sentences that made sense to the reader.
Best wishes for a safe and happy festive season.
BTW I also use Flexibility theme on 5 of my niche sites. You obviously like it too.
Very informative tips
I think along with this on what niches to promote, that it’s also important to think outside the box of what we personally like for ourselves. For example, I’m not into golfing, but I need to consider the interests that others have over my own. I can’t restrict my marketing efforts strictly to what my own interests are or I’d be limiting myself.
Profitability is a must, but if you don’t like the niche market you are in, the quality of your work tends to suffer, and you won’t be able to stick with it. Trust me. I tried going down that road (a number of times, I’m stubborn) and couldn’t stand it. I woke up irritated on a daily basis because I knew what was to come. That said, I did have some success but not nearly as much as when I found a niche that I actually enjoyed working in. Now, I wake up excited about my days and look forward to “working.” It’s actually fun for me now. Because I like what I do, I’m able to put out a lot more quality content and such, which directly affects the amount of traffic I get and thus my bottom line.
